"DG sur écoute" : interview with Estelle Iacona

Institute, Training Paris-Saclay & Brest

In an interview with Thotis, Estelle Iacona, Director General of ENSTA since 2025, outlines the school's main priorities one year after the merger between ENSTA Paris and ENSTA Bretagne.

In this “DG sur écoute” interview, Estelle Iacona recalls the unique heritage of ENSTA, France's oldest engineering school, historically linked to issues of sovereignty in the maritime, energy, digital, defense, and security fields.

A new training program in 2026

Starting in September 2026, the school will roll out new engineering programs:

All courses continue to be built around high scientific standards and close collaboration with industry.

Two campuses, the same level of excellence

Students will be able to begin their studies either on the Paris-Saclay campus or the Brest campus. The courses and specializations will then allow for mobility between campuses, internationally, or within companies. The School has around 100 partner universities, including 60 offering dual degrees.

Encouraging more young women to pursue careers in science

The interview also addresses the challenges of increasing the number of women in scientific fields. Estelle Iacona emphasizes the importance of taking action in middle and high schools, promoting female role models and strengthening career guidance support.
