Erasmus+ Mobility

Erasmus+ is a European program funded by the European Commission whose goal is to promote the spirit of the European Union, while highlighting the intercultural and technical development of European citizens.

ENSTA holds the Erasmus+ Charter 2021-2027 (ECHE), entitling it to respond to a call for projects each year in order to receive a grant to support the international mobility of students and staff.

Annual Erasmus+ funds depend on the amount allocated to ENSTA by the Erasmus+ France Agency. As a result, Erasmus+ grant amounts may vary from year to year, as may the rules for awarding them.

Grants are awarded based on available funds and according to an order of priority established by ENSTA.

Who is the Erasmus+ program intended for?

Given the funds available for the 2025-2026 academic year, the Erasmus+ grant is awarded on a priority basis to students undertaking academic mobility. With regard to internship mobility, the Erasmus+ grant is awarded to students receiving social grants, particularly when the internship is unpaid.

It should be noted that IETA students benefit from mobility thanks to Erasmus+ agreements, but they do not receive a grant for their stay abroad due to their military status (already remunerated).

Contribution to travel expenses

A contribution to travel expenses will be added to the total amount of your grant. The amount is calculated based on the distance traveled between Paris or Brest and the host city, as well as the type of transportation you use:

  • Eco-friendly travel (bus, train, carpooling via an app, as a driver or passenger). Proof of round-trip travel will be required.
  • Non-eco-friendly travel (plane, personal vehicule)

Inclusion

A financial supplement for inclusion will be automatically added to the basic amount awarded to students receiving grants based on social criteria, certifying a CROUS grant level 6 or 7, to students with disabilities or ALD, or to students living in ZRR. Proof of eligibility will be required.

For people with disabilities:

In addition to the bonus, people with disabilities can receive a specific Erasmus+ grant in addition to their mobility grant. This grant can cover the additional costs incurred during their stay in Europe (up to 100% of the actual costs incurred).

Credit recognition

In the context of study mobility, students must obtain 18 to 30 ECTS credits to validate a substitute semester, and 60 ECTS credits to validate an academic year.

In the context of internship mobility, students can obtain 7 to 30 ECTS credits depending on the type of internship.

How to apply

A form will be sent directly by the Erasmus+ program coordinator to eligible students participating in academic mobility. Students participating in internship mobility will apply via the school's intranet.

What happens next

The Erasmus+ procedure “during” and “after” mobility is detailed on the school's intranet, intended for participants.
