Every year, ENSTA stands out in national rankings and lists of the best French engineering schools. In international rankings, ENSTA appears under the banner of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, a world-renowned institution.

National Rankings

L'Etudiant ranking of the best engineering schools in 2026

The 2026 L'Etudiant ranking of engineering schools confirms ENSTA's second place. This result confirms:

  • ENSTA's academic excellence,
  • the quality of its research in support of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which meets the most demanding standards,
  • the quality of ENSTA's relationships with businesses (numerous industrial chairs and business partnerships),
  • ENSTA's social openness and sustainable development policy (diversity of student backgrounds ensuring true equal opportunities).

Le Figaro ranking of the best engineering schools in 2026

In its first year of existence, the new ENSTA ranks 7th in Le Figaro's 2026 ranking of engineering schools, faithful to the tradition of excellence of its two campuses in Paris-Saclay and Brest.

This ranking also confirms the excellence of the schools that make up the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, as they occupy a total of five of the top ten places.

DAUR Ranking 2025

The DAUR Ranking 2025 is based on data from 2024. As such, it references the ENSTA Paris and ENSTA Bretagne programs (prior to the merger). ENSTA ranks:

  • 5th in the overall ranking of engineering schools in 2025
  • 1st in work-study programs

In the thematic rankings, ENSTA ranks:

  • 1st in nuclear engineering, robotics, marine engineering, and land transportation
  • 3rd in AI, cybersecurity, quantitative finance, aerospace and defense, and entrepreneurship
  • 4th in energy and applied mathematics

International Rankings

Whether in the Shanghai ranking, the Times Higher Education ranking, or the QS ranking, ENSTA's excellence matches that of the other members of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris and allows our institution to position itself at the highest international level.
