This three-year work-study engineering program aims to train engineers in mechanical systems design in the fields of naval architecture and pyrotechnic systems.
A mechanical design engineering program
Created nearly 20 years ago at the request of companies, the mechanical design engineering program offered by ENSTA is based on close ties between the school and industry. Each apprentice engineer benefits from dual supervision: a company mentor and a school tutor for academic courses, ensuring that each student is guided toward success.
This program is based on a core curriculum that includes humanities and mechanical systems design courses, combined with an elective option:
A program recognized and highly regarded by industry
Humanities courses to learn how to manage a project, a team, and an organization
Progressive specialization with two options to choose from: naval architecture or pyrotechnic systems
International mobility for all
A tailored work-study schedule
A small class size (~30 apprentices)
A stimulating living and learning environment
A balanced curriculum combining professional and academic components

Year 2 / Progressive specialization
The second year offers a transition between continuing core courses and specialized courses in naval architecture or pyrotechnic systems. Discover the detailed programs for the two options.
At the end of the first year, you will have an international experience: the opportunity to prepare yourself to evolve in an international and multicultural environment. Mobility opportunities are available in research centers, where you will discover the challenges of innovation and R&D.

Continuing education
Are you an employee of a company and want to obtain an engineering degree? This training is available as part of continuing education for holders of a BTS/DUT or a VAE combined with 3 years of professional experience.
Continuing education trainees have a program tailored to their profile: they may be exempted from certain courses with the program manager's approval.
Tuition
As an apprentice engineer, the cost of your training is covered by the State, the Region, and the company. You do not have to pay any tuition fees. However, you are responsible for the student and campus life contribution (CVEC).
Application fee
For admission based on application, candidates must pay a €30* application fee to validate their application. Payment must be made before the deadline for submitting online registration forms via a secure online payment on your personal online account (Aurion). For any other payment method, please contact Laurent Gogé at agence-comptable.brest(a)ensta.fr.
* Non-refundable.
