  • TheMetaNews is an independent, ad-free media outlet designed to inform and bring together all research professionals, regardless of their discipline or career stage. Summarizing the latest research news, it covers topics common to all disciplines with two issues per week through interviews, letters to the editor, and opinion pieces, all available online.

Scientific and technical journals

  • Cairn.info offers digital journals in the humanities and social sciences.
    Our subscription covers the following fields: economics, management, sociology, and education sciences.
     
  • EDP Sciences offers scientific journals. Participation in the National Open Access Agreement in France.
    -> No off-campus access.
     
  • IEEEXplore offers journals, conference proceedings, and standards from the publisher IEEE. Fields covered: electronics, computer science, telecommunications.
     
  • Science Direct offers more than 2,000 science and technology journals in full text dating back to 1996. And 2,250 titles published from the beginning (1823) through 2001 thanks to the ISTEX national license.
     
  • SpringerLink offers more than 1,500 journals in science, technology, and medicine, with archives dating back to 1997. For 1,000 journals, archives are available from the publisher’s inception through 1996, and more than 8,500 e-books published prior to 2004 are available in the publisher’s collections through the ISTEX national license.
     
  • Techniques de l'ingénieur (Brest campus only) offers leading articles in science and technology, with over 60 million pages of technical information across a wide range of topics: electrical engineering, computer science, materials science...
    -> Off-campus access: create an account and request the access code from the Brest media library.
     
  • ISTEX As part of the national licenses (ISTEX and the Digital Scientific Library), we have access to the archives of several major publishers. You can find the list here. This represents 21 million documents.
     
  • DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals): over 1,000 open-access journal titles.
     
  • Open Éditions: electronic resources in the humanities and social sciences.
     
  • Persée: retrospective collections of French open-access journals in the humanities.

  • VLebooks: access to over 1,700 eBooks covering all academic disciplines, via the IP Paris shared subscription. 
     
  • ScholarVox: access to the Science (10,000+ titles) and Computer Science (9,000+ titles) collections.
     
  • SpringerNature: access to the 2024 Intell. Technologies & Robotics (715 titles) and Energy (191 titles) collections.

Databases

  • Auto-innovations.com is a website specializing in automotive innovations. Glossary, features, technology news, innovation quizzes, and resources. Request login credentials to access all articles and features from the media library.
     
  • Scopus is a multidisciplinary bibliographic database published by Elsevier. It contains over 54 million bibliographic records. Scopus is also a tool for evaluating scientific information that provides insights into journal rankings, researchers’ publications, citations of an article, and more.
     
  • SciVal is a database that enables the development of indicators to measure the quality and impact of an institute’s research projects.
     
  • WoS – Web of Science is a database providing access to 2.3 billion bibliographic references from over 22,000 scientific journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters.
     
  • InCites is a performance analysis tool. It uses (meta)data from Web of Science.
