BDE, BDA, BDS: New teams are energizing student life on both campuses

Student Life Paris-Saclay & Brest

As the new year begins, the three main student organizations responsible for student life (BDE, BDA, BDS) have just appointed new leadership. Meet the new members and learn about their major projects for the 2026–2027 term.

The Student Union (BDE), the conductor

Antoine Metayer, president of the BDE “Continental,” Paris-Saclay campus:

During our term, we will strive, among other things, to better include international students in student organizations, to foster ongoing student reflection on sustainable development and the impact of student life, and to make Zone 5 (the student activity center) more vibrant and accessible to everyone at all times.

Kamel Chaabit, president of the BDE, Brest campus:

"First and foremost, the inclusion of everyone in student events is a priority for us: we are committed to ensuring that every student finds their place on campus. At the same time, we are working toward a more accessible and sustainable campus by strengthening our eco-friendly initiatives and implementing sustainable transportation options."

The Arts Office, to express creativity

Carole Nicou, president of the BDA, Brest campus:

The BDA is coming to Brest! Its founding members aim to foster a rich and dynamic artistic life by offering more than a dozen club activities (music, dance, painting, sewing, theater…) and regular cultural outings (concerts, plays, exhibitions…).

Lucie Badiane, president of the BDA, Paris-Saclay campus:

“The Paris BDA organizes numerous artistic events such as arts nights, fashion shows, the arts fair, and studio recording sessions. It offers cultural outings in Paris and takes students on trips throughout Europe during the famous Cultural Weekends.”

The Sports Office: Collective Energy

The BDS manages all sports activities offered on each campus. The selection is very diverse, ranging from traditional team sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, and rugby… to individual sports like tennis, rock climbing, swimming, and track and field… as well as combat sports and horseback riding… High-quality facilities are available on every campus, and partnerships have been established to allow students to access additional facilities.

Elise Rougier, president of the BDS, Paris-Saclay campus:

“This year, the BDS SparTA plans to undertake several projects: As usual, the BDS is organizing a WES and a WECS in collaboration with the BDA. We hope to introduce a social fund project for sports equipment at the start of the school year. Additionally, we will create sports apparel to sell to students.”

Noé Deguen, president of the BDS, Brest campus:

“The Brest BDS manages licenses, competitions, and training sessions, while offering a monthly activity (hiking weekends, surfing, ice skating, etc.). Training sessions with firefighters and lifeguards will be organized. Events with the Paris campus are also on the agenda to strengthen cohesion and team spirit.”
