Training Responsible Engineers

Throughout their studies, our engineering students are made aware of the major challenges of the 21st century:

  • Courses in eco-design and sustainable development
  • Specialized tracks and electives
  • Impact-driven entrepreneurial projects
  • Conferences organized by Les Lundis de l’ENSTA (Jean-Marc Jancovici, Cédric Villani, Serge Zaka…).

Research Focused on the Ecological Transition

For example, our laboratories are working on topics such as bio-based hydrogen, optimizing the energy mix, autonomous vehicles, CO₂ capture, sustainability and lightweight materials, and new propulsion systems…

ENSTA also contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, such as the Energy for Climate (E4C) center and the Interdisciplinary Center for Seas and Oceans (CIMO), which it helped establish.

Social and international outreach

Conçus selon la norme Haute Qualité Environnementale (HQE), l'ENSTA disposent, sur le campus de Paris Saclay, de locaux qui s'appuient sur la géothermie et des panneaux solaires. Sur le campus de Brest, des investissements importants ont été réalisés pour renforcer l'efficience énergétique des bâtiments. La résidence étudiante a, par exemple, été totalement rénovée pour permettre d'importants gains énergétiques (remplacement des ouvertures, isolation par l'extérieur...) et l'ensemble des bâtiments sont chauffés par le réseau de chaleur urbain.

Sur les deux campus des actions quotidiennes sont réalisées, telles que le tri sélectif généralisé, la réduction de la consommation de papier, la suppresion des engrais phytosanitaires...
