hours of classes
The program is structured in two semesters
- the academic semester (approx. 500 hours of classes, tutorials, and design offices) runs from mid-September to the end of February (see details below)
- a second semester dedicated to a professional thesis in a company. It runs from March to the end of August. Students are supported in their search for an internship and, more broadly, in their thinking about their career path.
The academic semester
It combines
- A first part dedicated to the core curriculum to enable you to acquire all the methodological prerequisites and knowledge about the ecosystem of a maritime project, its steering and management.
- Some examples of subjects taught: Project management tools, quality management, lean management, crisis communication, team management, maintenance engineering, agile methods, etc.
- A team project on research topics proposed by companies completes this first part of the curriculum.
- The second part of the semester is dedicated to the option you have chosen
- The “Maritime Project Management” (MPM) option will allow you to deepen your knowledge of the ecosystem of a maritime project (contract law, maritime law, geopolitics of maritime spaces, defense economics, etc.) as well as the management of a maritime project in an international context (international negotiation, intercultural management, international strategic approach, etc. ).
- The “Ship Maintenance” (MDN) option prepares students to examine all the steps involved in preparing and carrying out a ship maintenance period known as “maintenance in operational condition” (MOC). The courses cover the maintenance program and its planning, port infrastructure and services, and the management of fleet availability and technical shutdowns. The “Ship Maintenance” specialization is taught at the Naval Academy in Brest/Lanvéoc (29) and in Toulon (83).
