The ENSTA Foundation and its sponsors support student initiatives

Institute, Student Life

Organized by the ENSTA Foundation, with support from its sponsors—including SAE* for the 2026 edition—“Make Us Dream” aims to provide financial support for innovative student projects with a technological focus. In 2026, the call for projects selected seven initiatives in various fields (robotics, energy, AI, etc.) spread across the Brest and Paris-Saclay campuses.

This support from the ENSTA Foundation is invaluable to the club: it allows us to keep historic projects like the French Robotics Cup alive, while launching Bipède-ENSTA, a modular student-built humanoid robot focused on the challenges of tomorrow’s robotics!

Projects selected in 2026 by the “Faites-nous rêver” call for projects (in alphabetical order):

  • "Autumn Best Course" organized by the BEST ENSTA Brest Campus Association from October 17 to 24, 2026, on the theme of robotics. The week is part of the Board of European Students of Technology. It allows European students to explore a scientific theme, as well as a country and a city, and to network with other European students.
  • BIPED ENSTA, led by the Brest Robotics Club, aims to develop a wheeled bipedal robot inspired by recent hybrid platforms combining legs and wheels. The goal is not to design a humanoid but a coherent intermediate platform: a prototype capable of stabilizing itself, moving, and serving as a technology demonstrator. It combines a wide range of skills: embedded technologies, real-time software, networks, system integration, robustness, testing, and operation of complex systems…
  • 2026 French Robotics Cup. The project supported two of the three ENSTA teams participating in the 2026 French Robotics Cup. As part of this national competition, students must bring together a variety of skills: system architecture, embedded electronics, vision, sensors, motor control, software development, mechanical manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and experimental validation.
  • Energy Boat Challenge focusing on the design and construction of an electric boat for the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (Energy Class and AI categories). The project develops a wide range of skills useful for an ENSTA engineer, such as mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering, as well as communication, logistics, and management skills. It is led by the Tameo Association.
  • Fireworks displays presented by the ENST’Artifice Club during the Inter-ENSTA Weekend and the orientation weekend. The fireworks will be set off by students from this new club who have been trained in the technical and safety requirements of the field.
  • I.O.D - Innovation for the Ocean of Tomorrow is organizing a participatory event on June 6, 2026, at the 70.8 by Océanopolis museum (Ateliers des Capucins, Brest), combining marine innovation, artistic creation, and entrepreneurship. This technological and creative showcase brings together startups, industry leaders, artists, students, and the general public around a shared goal: accelerating the maritime ecological transition.
  • TFJM²—This national math competition for high school students is organized by Animath in collaboration with higher education and research institutions. The event aims to encourage young participants to immerse themselves in the exciting world of mathematics. The tournament finals took place from May 23 to 25, 2026, on the Paris-Saclay campus.

For students, the support of the ENSTA Foundation provides invaluable assistance in securing funding for their projects, complementing the sponsorship and fundraising efforts already underway.

The support of the ENSTA Foundation has enabled us to improve key aspects of our boat’s performance. Thanks to this assistance, we were able to acquire new batteries and install a cooling system for the electronic controllers.

With “Faites-nous rêver,” the ENSTA Foundation is committed to supporting student innovation. Robotics, carbon-free energy, equal opportunity, internationalization… the diverse initiatives supported help provide students on both campuses with an environment conducive to experimentation and the development of multidisciplinary skills, and contribute to the training of engaged engineers.
