About us

With nearly three centuries of history, ENSTA occupies a leading position in the French higher education and research landscape.

A multidisciplinary engineering institute offering excellent training programs, ENSTA (École Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées) is a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which brings together six leading educational and research institutions in France and internationally.

Under the supervision of the French Ministry of Armed Forces, ENSTA is a public institution with EPSCP-GE status. The Institute serves many sectors of activity corresponding to its areas of excellence, such as defense and security, engineering for health, marine engineering, digital engineering, and transport and mobility.

ENSTA has two campuses. The headquarters, located in Palaiseau on the Saclay plateau, is in close proximity to many renowned scientific establishments and institutions. The Brest campus is located near the sea and leading institutions in the field of marine science and technology.

Research is one of the Institute's main missions. It is structured around six training and research units and involves around ten laboratories.
