Atlanta, USA - Georgia Institute of Technology
"I enrolled in Georgia Tech's Master's program in Aerospace Engineering. With the Thesis option, the course load is lighter, and the corresponding credits are replaced by laboratory research. Throughout my stay, I worked at the Computational Combustion Laboratory on a multi-university project funded by the Office of Naval Research. Thanks to the funding, my tuition fees were covered and I received a monthly salary.
My stay gave me an insight into how scientific research is conducted in academia in the United States. I was able to present my work at a major aerospace conference in Orlando, and I also participated in an end-of-year meeting in Washington, D.C. about the multi-university project I was working on. During my nearly two-year stay in the United States, I was able to truly immerse myself and meet all kinds of people." - Jean
Copenhagen, Denmark - Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU)
"The academic experience at DTU was very enriching and complementary to the training offered by ENSTA. The work assessed is mainly based on group work and the practical application of the concepts studied.
My experience in Denmark was very enriching on a personal level. It marked a significant step towards independence and required me to be self-sufficient and know how to seek information from others or online. Working in an international context is extremely interesting and allows you to discover new cultures, different ways of working, and different ways of being. It also obviously improves your ability to make yourself understood in English, communicate with ease, and constantly integrate into new environments." - Maryse
Delft, Netherlands - Technische Universiteit Delft
"My time at TU Delft was enriching, marked by two internships abroad and inspiring encounters throughout the master's program. I completed my master's thesis at the Belgian company DEME Group, spending three months at their headquarters in Antwerp and then five months at one of their offices in Tokyo. My work focused on studying the movements of an offshore wind turbine during its transport phase at sea, under the effect of waves and cruising speed. This experience was particularly enriching: it allowed me to work in two very different cultures and to acquire in-depth knowledge of the offshore wind sector.
Overall, this experience allowed me to meet many international students with varied backgrounds and expertise. The university campus, which is much larger than that of ENSTA, offers a stimulating environment. As for the academic training, it proved to be of very high quality." - Massami
Gothenburg, Sweden - Chalmers
"After completing a science preparatory program and majoring in ICT at ENSTA, I wanted to apply my knowledge to the field of acoustics. So I chose to go to Chalmers in Sweden. They are internationally renowned and I am very interested in Scandinavian culture. The Master's program in Sound & Vibration offers courses in wave physics, electroacoustics, and signal processing, among other subjects, which piqued my interest.
Going to Sweden was a great decision. Spending two years abroad changed my life, my way of thinking, and my ideals. I'm coming back to France with stars in my eyes. These two years have given me a taste for travel. I'm grateful to ENSTA for this opportunity.“ - Valentin
Madrid, Spain - Universidad Pontificia Comillas (UPC) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) ETSIN
”I recommend the quality of the teaching, the network in Spain, the opportunities, and the academic environment.
My exchange was in Madrid, at ICAI, where I stayed for five months and took courses focused on the world of data. During this exchange, I was able to discover life in Madrid and life abroad in general, improve my English and Spanish, and learn more about Spanish culture." - Paul
"I recommend ETSIN for its excellent teaching staff and its good support for students (both international and regular). The courses are interesting and different from what we are used to at ENSTA. The ESN community is very active in organizing daytime and evening activities, and Madrid offers a great quality of life.
It's perhaps the easiest opportunity to live in a different environment, a “now or never” kind of thing. It's a chance to prove to yourself that you can thrive in an environment that might have seemed daunting a few months earlier. It's a chance to grow and enrich yourself by discovering new cultures and taking advantage of opportunities that you don't necessarily have at ENSTA. We talk about a substitute semester, but I don't feel like I've replaced anything, I feel like I've added something.“
Montreal, Canada - Polytechnique Montreal
