Engineering: a career without frontiers
The global strategies of multinational corporations, are profoundly modifying the engineer's profession. It is now vital to prepare the students for work in an international context, regardless of the sector or the post that they are looking for.
Whether in terms of cooperation with subsidiaries of multinational groups, or creating new local sites, or commercial development, the international dimension is omnipresent in the profession of the engineer. Even an engineer whose career takes place essentially at home will be required to interact with an increasingly international management echelon.
Foreign languages skills are now considered to be a minimum requirement. Nonetheless, successfully working with international partners usually entails going beyond this basic, uniform means of communication and being capable of understanding their culture and their working methods.
For a number of years, ENSTA ParisTech has incorporated the international diimension into its training curriculum.
For the students of ENSTA ParisTech, this entails:
 studying two foreign languages, lncluding English, with the possibility of beginning a third language
an obligation to take part of the course abroad, whether in the form of time spent at a foreign university or a company internship.
Conversely, by training high-level foreign students in the Frecnh approach to the profession of engineer, ENSTA ParisTech contributes to developing the economic and technical ties of tomorrow.
This year, about 20% of its students are international, representing more than 16 nationalities, originating mostly from Europe, Asia and Latin America.
A proactive, ambitious policy
For a number of years, ENSTA ParisTech has been following a proactive, ambitious international policy. As a member of a numerous exchange networks, it has developed a broad range of partnerships and has made recruiting high level foreign students one of its priorities.
