The Master of Science « Design, modeling and optimization of processes » is jointly organized by ENSTA, ENSMP, AgroParisTech and École Polytechnique which are among the best institutes in France. All four are members of ParisTech. The four institutes are internationally well known in chemical engineering trough their research work. This as well as the partnership with companies such as TOTAL, ALSTOM, EDF, BEL, PERNOD-RICARD, etc.) ensures that this Master is an international formation of excellence, well adapted to the international job market.
Objectives of the master
The Master gives a specialization in chemical engineering. It includes the presentation of main concepts but is mainly devoted to process technical management based on process simulation. This specialization an original characteristic of the training. Two options are present during the second year of the training. This allows the students to get a training that may conduct to the ability to optimize processes in the energy field or in the food processes.
However, the knowledge given during this training will allow the student to adapt easily to careers in other fields such as chemical industry, pharmacy, petrochemical etc.
The professional character of the Master is linked with the structure of the courses, the emphasis given to projects during the training, various commercial software used in major companies (Aspen+, Prosim, Prodesigner,…) being used during these projects, and, finally, the presence of numerous presentations made par engineers issued from industrial companies.
Acquired skills and professional outlets
The students who will obtain their Master degree will be able to: • Conceive a process adapted to the production of products adapted to the market and to conduct its industrialization, • Manage and optimize existing productions units taking into account technical feasibility criteria as well as financial objectives and environmental impact criteria.
The students will be prepared to various careers such as engineers in research and development, engineers in process development and production engineers. The industrial sector targets are mainly the energy and the food industries but the student competencies will allow them to work in various other industrial fields : speciality chemicals, pharmaceutical industry, water treatment, metallurgy,…
